Das Muntpalais steht auf einem Netzwerk von unterirdischen Gängen, an der Stelle, wo früher ein Dominikanerkonvent war. Man kann immer noch einen Grabstein eines Dominikaners am Künstlerzugang des Muntpalais sehen. Dominikanerkonvente wurden 1796 mit der Französischen Revolution verboten.
