Hier erhebt sich die Hauptkirche des Bistums Hasselt, nämlich die Sint-Quintinuskathedrale. Im 8. Jahrhundert stand an der Stelle der Sint-Quintinuskathedrale die erste primitive Kirche an der Helbeek, der Kern des alten Hasselt. 1967, mit der Gründung des Bistums Hasselt, wurde diese Kirche zur Bischofskirche oder Kathedrale. Dieses geschützte romanisch-gotische Monument am Vismarkt/Fruitmarkt beherbergt auch das Glockenmuseum mit seinem beeindruckenden Turm.
