Peer ist eine Stadt in der Region Flandern in Belgien. Sie gehört in die Kempen zur Provinz Limburg und liegt etwa 80 km westlich von Mönchengladbach. Im Ortsteil Wauberg entspringt die Dommel, ein Nebenfluss der Maas.Der Ortsteil Grote-Brogel wird als einer der möglichen Geburtsorte des flämischen Malers Pieter Brueghel genannt. Brueghel solle im Dorf Brueghel unweit von Brede oder Breda geboren worden sein. Grote-Brogel wurde und wird vor Ort noch immer als Brögel ausgesprochen; Brede und Breda sind alte Schreibweisen der benachbarten Stadt Bree.
