Wusstest du, dass 1950 in Dessel der letzte Hexenprozess in Belgien stattfand? Allerdings wurde niemand wegen Hexerei angeklagt. Die Dorfbewohner beschuldigten Maria Minnen, schwarze Magie zu betreiben. Die Frau ging selbst mit einer Klage wegen Verleumdung und Rufschädigung gegen ihre Nachbarin, den Kirchenvorsteher und ihre Tante vor Gericht. Die drei wurden am 23. Juni 1950 vom Gericht in Arendonk zu Geldstrafen und Schadenersatz verurteilt.
