Oeselgem ist ein Dorf in der belgischen Provinz Westflandern und ein Stadtteil von Dentergem. Das Dorf liegt entlang der Leie, an der Grenze zu Ostflandern.
Im Jahr 1259 wurde das Dorf als Oulsenghien erwähnt; aus dem Jahr 1304 findet man Oecelghem zurück. Der Name würde laut einigen bedeuten: "Wohnort, wo die Leie sich schlängelt", wobei "oeselen" ein altes Wort für schlängeln sein soll. Anderen zufolge bezieht sich der erste Teil des Namens jedoch auf den Eigennamen Oussel, Hutselin oder Husselin.
