Im Rathaus von Wetteren hängt ein Gemälde, das von Arsene Goedertier, dem Hauptverdächtigen im Diebstahl der Gerechten Richter, geschaffen wurde. Arsene Goedertier war nicht nur Küster, sondern auch Maler. Er wurde Lehrer an der Wetterer Zeichenschule. Im Rathaus kann man sein Standesporträt von Jean-Baptist Van de Velde, dem Major der Wetterer Bürgerwehr, sehen.
