Der Houtem Jahrmarkt ist ein jährlicher Winter- und Viehmarkt in Sint-Lievens-Houtem. Er findet am 11. November statt. Das Dorf wird dann vollständig von dem Freiluftmarkt des Landes eingenommen, wo insbesondere der Handel mit Vieh und reinrassigen Pferden im Vordergrund steht. Hunderte von Verkäufern zeigen hier stolz ihre Tiere. Menschen reisen aus dem ganzen Land zu diesem Ort. Hier sieht man bei den Verhandlungen noch das echte Händeschütteln. Mit mehr als sechshundert Pferden und doppelt so vielen Kühen zum Verkauf ist dies einer der top Viehhandelsplätze des Landes. Jedes Jahr wird ein ausländisches Gebiet eingeladen, um seine Attraktionen, regionalen Produkte und Handwerkskunst auf der Messe zu präsentieren. Für zwei Tage wird das gesamte Dorf in einen offenen und einladenden Raum verwandelt.
