Le marché annuel de Houtem est un marché d'hiver et de bétail qui se tient à Sint-Lievens-Houtem. Il a lieu le 11 novembre. Le village est alors entièrement envahi par le marché en plein air du pays, où le commerce de bétail et de chevaux de race est particulièrement mis en avant. Des centaines de vendeurs montrent fièrement leurs animaux. Des gens viennent de tout le pays pour se rendre sur ce site. Ici, vous pouvez encore voir de véritables négociations en main à main. Avec plus de six cents chevaux et deux fois plus de vaches à vendre, c'est l'un des principaux lieux de commerce de bétail du pays. Chaque année, une région étrangère est invitée à présenter ses attractions, ses produits régionaux et son savoir-faire lors de la foire. Pendant deux jours, le village entier se transforme en un espace ouvert et accueillant.
