Die Solvay-Domäne hat ihre Ursprünge im Zonienwald und wurde 1893 von dem Industriellen Ernest Solvay gekauft, der sich darauf beschränkte, das von seinem Vorgänger gebaute Schloss neu einzurichten.
Das Gebäude erhielt sein heutiges Aussehen dank der Veränderungen, die Armand Solvay, der Sohn von Ernest, vorgenommen hat. Armands Sohn Ernest-John, legte den Park neu an und machte daraus ein bemerkenswertes Schatzkästlein mit Tieren, seltenen Baumarten sowie anspruchsvollen Pflanzen.
Die Domäne ist durchgehend für die Öffentlichkeit geöffnet. Sie beherbergt auch die Folon-Stiftung.
