Oud-Genepiën war eine selbständige belgische Gemeinde bis zur Fusion 1977, als sie als Teilgemeinde zu Genepiën hinzugefügt wurde. Oud-Genepiën ist bekannt für seine alten Höhlen, die in der Vergangenheit mit der Abtei Affligem verbunden waren. In dieser Kirche wurde 1459 der erste Sohn von Ludwig XI. von Frankreich getauft. Die heutige Einrichtung stammt aus der Restaurierung durch die Abtei Affligem im Jahr 1769.
