Oud-Genepiën was an independent Belgian municipality until the merger of 1977 when it was incorporated as a district of Genepiën. Oud-Genepiën is known for its old farmhouses, which were historically connected to the Affligem Abbey. In this church, the first son of Louis XI of France was baptized in 1459. The current setup dates from the restoration by the Affligem Abbey in 1769.
