Viersel ist ein Stadtteil von Zandhoven im Land von Rijen, in den Antwerpener Kempen, Provinz Antwerpen, Belgien. Viersel war bis zur Gemeindereform von 1977 eine eigenständige Gemeinde. Der Ursprung von Viersel geht auf eine fränkische Siedlung zurück. Viersel könnte die Villa Sprusdare am Fluss Huita oder Hnita gewesen sein, das väterliche Erbe von Rauchingus, das dieser Amtsträger 726 in Antwerpen zusammen mit weiteren Schenkungen dem heiligen Willibrordus übergab. Viersel wird in einer Urkunde des Kapitels von Hilvarenbeek, gelegen in Nordbrabant, erwähnt. In dieser Urkunde aus dem Jahr 1157 gibt das Kapitel zwei freie Höfe in Viersel in Erbpacht an die Abtei von Tongerloo.
