Averbode ist ein Stadtteil von Scherpenheuvel-Zichem in der belgischen Provinz Vlaams-Brabant. Der Dialektname für Averbode ist "Eiverbeu", “Eiverbeur” oder "Everbeur". Von 1928 bis 1977 war Averbode eine selbstständige Gemeinde. Geografisch und linguistisch gehört Averbode zu den Südkempen. In der unmittelbaren Umgebung der Abtei von Averbode, die 1134 gegründet wurde, gab es jahrhundertelang kaum Ansiedlungen. Erst im letzten Viertel des 19. Jahrhunderts gab es das gleichnamige Weiler, das manchmal auch Everbode und Den Haak genannt wurde.
