Olmen ist ein Dorf in der belgischen Provinz Antwerpen und eine Teilgemeinde von Balen. Olmen war bis zur Gemeinde-Reform von 1977 eine selbständige Gemeinde. Über die Vorgeschichte von Olmen ist wenig bekannt, nur einige keltische und römische Funde belegen dies. Im Jahr 1288 war das Dorf ein Allodium an der Ostgrenze des Herzogtums Brabant. Das Patronatsrecht und das Zehntrecht waren im Besitz der Abtei von Postel, damals noch ein Priorat.
