Eppegem ist ein Dorf in der belgischen Provinz Flämisch-Brabant und ein Teilgemeinde von Zemst. Eppegem liegt an der Zenne. Eppegem war eine selbstständige Gemeinde bis zur Gemeindereform von 1977. Der Toponym Eppegem leitet sich von dem fränkischen Namen Ippingohaim ab. Dieser Name wird erstmals in einem Diplom erwähnt, das von Kaiser Otto I. aus dem Jahr 966 ausgestellt wurde. Ippingohaim bedeutet Wohnung oder Heim von Ippe. Der Toponym Eppenghem taucht seit 1245 auf. Seit 1945 heißt das Dorf offiziell Eppegem.
