Im Jahr 1425 wurde erstmals von einem Schreiberhaus in Kaprijke berichtet. Dies wurde einige Male renoviert. Das heutige Gebäude entstand 1662-1663 und wurde im Barockstil ausgeführt. 1881 wurde das Gebäude durch ein Feuer schwer beschädigt. 1885 wurde das Gebäude restauriert und auch in späteren Jahren fanden Renovierungen statt, zuletzt 1998.
