In 1425, a shiphouse in Kaprijke was mentioned for the first time. It was renewed several times. The current building was established in 1662-1663 and was executed in Baroque style. In 1881, the building was severely damaged by fire. In 1885, the building was restored, and restorations also took place in later years, the last one in 1998.
