Rund um die Kirche der Alveringem-Gemeinde Oeren entstand während des Ersten Weltkriegs ein Militärfriedhof. Hier liegen 508 belgische Soldaten begraben. Ehemals standen hier viele Heldenehrengräber, gekennzeichnet durch die Buchstaben AVV-VVK. Im Februar 1918 wurden diese Buchstaben auf etwa 38 Gräbern beschmiert. Heute findet man auf diesem Friedhof noch 5 Heldenehrengräber.
