Durch umfassende Untersuchungen Ende der neunziger Jahre stellte sich heraus, dass es an der Grenze zwischen Südostflandern und dem südwestlichen Teil von Flämisch-Brabant außergewöhnlich still ist. Die verschiedenen Behörden beschlossen, dieses einzigartige Charakter zu bewahren, und riefen das 28 ha große 'Dender-Markgebiet' als das erste offizielle Stillegebiet in Flandern aus. Im Stillegebiet führen vier verschiedene Wanderrouten. Das Auto parken Sie selbstverständlich außerhalb des Gebiets, damit es dort für alle ruhig bleibt. Zubringerwege bringen Sie von den Parkplätzen zu den Wanderwegen.
