Am Eingang des Museums steht ein beeindruckendes Modell, das die Situation des Schlachtfeldes am Morgen des 18. Juni 1815 darstellt.
Piet Prinsen, der Modellbauer, der dieses Meisterwerk geschaffen hat, benötigte dreißig Jahre, um dieses Meisterwerk zu bauen, auf dem alle Gebäude und Straßen sowie die hügelige Landschaft wahrheitsgetreu dargestellt sind. Das Modell mit mehr als 30 m2, Maßstab 1:72, zählt mehr als 10.000 Soldaten aus verschiedenen Ländern.
Herr und Frau Prinsen haben immer den Wunsch gehegt, dass dieses Lebenswerk eines Tages auf dem Schlachtfeld von Waterloo ausgestellt wird. Seit dem 7. Juli 2020 ist dieser Wunsch Wirklichkeit geworden.
