Dieses kleine grüne Paradies für Radfahrer und Wanderer im Woluwetal ist eine alte Eisenbahnstrecke. Fast ein Jahrhundert lang – von 1882 bis 1970 – fuhren auf diesem Weg Züge.
Die Bahnstrecke verbindet das Brüsseler Leopoldviertel mit Tervuren. 1931 war dies sogar die erste elektrifizierte Bahnlinie des Landes. Heute ist der Weg Teil des Grünen Wegs, einer Wander- und Fahrrunde von über 60 Kilometern entlang vieler Parks, Wälder und Naturschutzgebiete rund um Brüssel.
Folge der alten Eisenbahnlinie weiter. Von der idyllischen grünen Zone gelangt man in ein zusammenhangloses Gefüge aus Büros, Geschäften, Wohnhäusern und öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln. Entwicklungspläne der Region Brüssel sollen in den kommenden Jahren daraus ein harmonisches Ganzes schaffen.
