Orbix Solutions ist ein Pionier in der enormen Reduzierung der CO2-Emissionen in der Bauindustrie. Weltweit ist die Zementindustrie verantwortlich für 7% der CO2-Emissionen. Hier stellen sie Baublöcke auf Basis von Metallschlacken (Reste der Metallgewinnung aus Erzen) her. Dabei wird auch noch CO2 in den Steinen gespeichert. Pro Gewichtseinheit Stein werden etwa 10% CO2 dauerhaft gespeichert. Und bei der Herstellung dieser Steine wird, im Gegensatz zu klassischem Zement, auch sehr wenig CO2 produziert. Ein Prozess aus der Natur wird nachgeahmt, nämlich die Produktion von Marmor. Der Prozess wurde von VITO ausgearbeitet.
