Le Trou de la Barette liegt ganz nah am Bahnhof Écaussinnes. Dies ist das bekannteste und sichtbarste Steinbruchloch.
Auf dem Gelände befanden sich früher die Steinbrüche von Mayeurmont, die zwölf Aktivitäten vereinten. Diese Steinbrüche wurden im 15. Jahrhundert ausgebeutet.
Damals nutzten wir die Fläche des Bodens, da es viele Quellen in der Region gibt und wir schnell Wassermassen erreichten.
