Die Maria-Magdalena-Kapelle gegenüber der J.B. Cardijnstraße 30 wurde 1858 erbaut. Sie ersetzt die ältere und größere Viertelkapelle von Mekingen, eine der neun Tochterkirchen der Sint-Pieterskirche, die etwa 1840 verschwand. Über der Tür ist folgender Text lesbar: 'Diese Kapelle ist zu Ehren von Maria Magdalena von den Einwohnern von Mekingen im Jahr 1858 erbaut worden'. Die Kapelle selbst besitzt mehrere Statuen, darunter eine von Maria Magdalena. Die heilige Maria Magdalena wird gegen die Pest, Warzen und Geschwüre angerufen.
Die Kapelle wurde 2016 auf Initiative des Kulturrates erneuert.
