Der Name Ronsdonk bezieht sich auf eine hügelige Wiesenlandschaft mit mehreren sandigen Hügeln. Es handelt sich um eine typische Kulturlandschaft, die durch menschliche Aktivitäten entstanden ist. Die von Kopfweiden gesäumten Feuchtwiesen verleihen dem Gebiet einen typisch flämischen ländlichen Charakter. Der Übergang von nass zu trocken macht das Gebiet sehr interessant, denn es beherbergt eine Vielzahl von Pflanzen und Tieren. In feuchten Perioden werden Stiefel empfohlen.
