Ein wenig verborgen zwischen der Schelde, Hoboken und der Industrie von Blue Gate (ehemals Petroleum Süd) liegt die Hobokense Polder: mit seinen 170 ha das größte Stück Natur in der Stadt Antwerpen. Die Natur hatte hier freie Bahn und es entstand ein wertvolles und wunderschönes Naturschutzgebiet, mit einer großen Vielfalt an Landschaften und einem enormen Reichtum an Pflanzenarten.
