Durch den Vierwaldstättersee ist diese Exklave, bestehend aus den drei Seegemeinden Greppen, Weggis und Vitznau, vom übrigen Amtsgebiet getrennt.
Greppen liegt am Vierwaldstättersee, am östlichen Ufer des Küssnachter Arms am Fuss der Rigi. Greppen dehnt sich vom Vierwaldstättersee auf den Westhang der Rigi bis unterhalb von Rigi-Staffel aus. Vom Gemeindegebiet sind nur 330 ha Landfläche, der Rest ist Seeanteil. Von der Landfläche werden 50,9 % landwirtschaftlich genutzt, 39,7 % sind Wald und Gehölz und nur 9,4 % Siedlungsfläche. Das Gebiet Breitenacherried steht unter Naturschutz.
