Peitz, niedersorbisch Picnjo, ist eine Stadt im Landkreis Spree-Neiße in Brandenburg. Sie ist Sitz des seit 1992 bestehenden Amtes Peitz.
Peitz liegt in der Niederlausitz am östlichen Rand des Spreewalds, auch Vorspreewald genannt, in einer wasserreichen Landschaft des Baruther Urstromtals, mit dem Fluss Malxe und dem Hammergraben, einem künstlich angelegten Nebenarm der Spree, sowie einem großen Teichgebiet. Die Stadt befindet sich im angestammten und amtlichen Siedlungsgebiet der Sorben/Wenden.
