Boizenburg/Elbe [ˈbɔ͜yt͜sn̩bʊrk] ist die westlichste Stadt Mecklenburgs, gelegen am Dreiländereck mit Niedersachsen und Schleswig-Holstein und im UNESCO-Biosphärenreservat Flusslandschaft Elbe-Mecklenburg-Vorpommern im Landkreis Ludwigslust-Parchim in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern . Die Stadt ist Verwaltungssitz des Amtes Boizenburg-Land, dem elf Gemeinden angehören, ist selbst aber amtsfrei.
Boizenburg befindet sich in der Metropolregion Hamburg, verzeichnet jedoch noch wenig Einwohnerzuwächse. Der Ort bildet ein Grundzentrum, das zu einem Mittelzentrum entwickelt wird.
