Strausberg ist eine amtsfreie Stadt im Landkreis Märkisch-Oderland in Brandenburg. Sie gehört zum Berliner Ballungsraum.
Strausberg liegt 35 Kilometer ostnordostwärts von Berlin auf der Hochfläche des Barnims, inmitten einer seen- und waldreichen Landschaft, die durch die Weichsel-Eiszeit geprägt wurde. Besonders landschaftsprägend sind dabei zwei westlich der Stadt befindliche eiszeitliche Rinnen, die heute von Süd nach Nord verlaufende Seenketten bilden.
Der Stadtkern liegt am Ostufer des Straussees, des größten der umliegenden Seen, zu denen noch der Bötz-, der Ihland- und der Fängersee zählen. Teilflächen des Ortsteils Hohenstein sind Bestandteil des Naturparks Märkische Schweiz.
