Rothenburg/Oberlausitz ist eine Kleinstadt im Landkreis Görlitz im Nordosten des Freistaates Sachsen an der deutsch-polnischen Grenze. Dem Görlitzer Beispiel folgend nennt sie sich „östlichste Kleinstadt Deutschlands“ und „östlichstes Städtchen Deutschlands“.
Seit 1995 hat die Fachhochschule für Polizei des Freistaats Sachsen hier ihren Sitz. Nordwestlich der Stadt liegt der Flugplatz Rothenburg/Görlitz, der in den 1960er-Jahren gebaut und von der NVA als Jagdflieger-Ausbildungsplatz genutzt wurde.
