Wolframs-Eschenbach, bis 1917 Obereschenbach, ist eine Stadt im Landkreis Ansbach in Mittelfranken. Der Ort ist Sitz der Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Wolframs-Eschenbach.
Der Ort wird als „Eschelebach“ im Jahre 1057/75 erstmals urkundlich erwähnt. Der Ortsname leitet sich von dem gleichnamigen Gewässernamen ab, dessen Bestimmungswort die Esche ist. 1309 ist die Form „Obern-Eschembach“ bezeugt wohl zur Unterscheidung von gleichnamigen, in der Nähe gelegenen Orten .
