Nordstemmen ist eine Gemeinde im Westen des Landkreises Hildesheim, die sich im Bereich der Metropolregion Hannover-Braunschweig-Göttingen in Südniedersachsen befindet und die am Fluss Leine liegt.
Nordstemmen liegt westlich von Hildesheim am Südrand der Norddeutschen Tiefebene an den nordwestlichsten Ausläufern des Hildesheimer Walds etwa 1 km östlich der Einmündung der Haller in die Leine, die bei der Marienbergbrücke den Marienberg passiert, an dessen Südhang das Schloss Marienburg steht.
