Fockbek liegt direkt westlich von Rendsburg an der Abgabelung der Bundesstraße 202 von der Bundesstraße 203. Der ehemalige Haltepunkt Fockbek lag an der Bahnstrecke Husum–Erfde–Rendsburg, die an dieser Stelle jedoch stillgelegt ist.
Zur Gemeinde gehören auch Ahrenstedt, Fockbekfeld, Ernsttal, Klamper Weg, Barris, Knüll, Langenbrook, Langenbrooker Weg und Loher Weg Ausbau.
Der fischförmige Fockbeker See liegt im Gemeindegebiet.
