Reitzenhain ist eine Ortsgemeinde im Rhein-Lahn-Kreis in Rheinland-Pfalz. Sie gehört der Verbandsgemeinde Loreley an, die ihren Verwaltungssitz in St. Goarshausen hat.
Der Ort gehörte zur Niedergrafschaft Katzenelnbogen und war damit Teil des Besitzes der Grafen von Katzenelnbogen. Nach deren Aussterben 1479 fiel das Gebiet an die Landgrafschaft Hessen. 1527 führte Landgraf Philipp I. die Reformation ein. Nach seinem Tod 1567 zerfiel das Haus Hessen in mehrere Linien. Ruppertshofen wurde Hessen-Rheinfels zugeschlagen, fiel aber 1583 an Hessen-Kassel. Während des Dreißigjährigen Krieges kurzfristig von Hessen-Darmstadt besetzt, fiel es 1648 wieder an Hessen-Kassel.
