Schönecken ist eine Ortsgemeinde in der Westeifel im Eifelkreis Bitburg-Prüm in Rheinland-Pfalz und gehört der Verbandsgemeinde Prüm an. Schönecken ist nach der Landesplanung als Grundzentrum ausgewiesen.
Schönecken liegt an der Nims auf einer Höhe von etwa 400 bis 550 m ü. NHN. In nördlicher und westlicher Richtung grenzt die Schönecker Schweiz an den Ort, das größte Naturschutzgebiet im Eifelkreis Bitburg-Prüm. Hier befinden sich unter anderem seltene Insekten und Orchideenarten, Kalkmagerrasen und ausgedehnte Wanderwege. Schönecken befindet sich inmitten der Prümer Kalkmulde, einer weitgehend unberührten Karstlandschaft.
