Freiberg am Neckar ist eine Stadt in Baden-Württemberg im Landkreis Ludwigsburg etwa 17 Kilometer nördlich von Stuttgart. Sie gehört zur Region Stuttgart und zur europäischen Metropolregion Stuttgart.
Freiberg am Neckar erstreckt sich von einer Flussbiegung des Neckars im Norden der Stadt auf die nach Süden und Westen angrenzenden Höhenzüge hinauf. Die Höhenunterschiede Freibergs reichen von über 183 m ü. NHN am Geisinger Neckartal bis zu 285 m ü. NHN am Millenniumshügel . Sie ist eine typische Kleinstadt in der wohlhabenden, verkehrsgünstig gelegenen Peripherie einer Großstadtregion. Das Stadtbild ist zum einen geprägt von Wohngebieten mit Einfamilienhäusern und kleinen Mehrfamilienhäusern, zum anderen von Verkehr und einem Kranz von Gewerbegebieten. Durch die Stadt läuft die Autobahn A 81.
