Ofterdingen ist eine Gemeinde im Landkreis Tübingen, etwa 13 Kilometer südlich von Tübingen an der Bundesstraße 27 gelegen. Sie gehört zur Region Neckar-Alb und zur Randzone der europäischen Metropolregion Stuttgart.
Ofterdingen liegt im Tal der Steinlach, einem rechten Nebenfluss des Neckars, und gehört räumlich bereits zum mittleren Albvorland. Der westliche Teil Ofterdingens liegt teilweise auf dem Rammert, einem bis zu 590 m ü. NHN bewaldeten Höhenzug des Keuperberglands. Das Gemeindegebiet erstreckt sich dabei auf einer Höhenlage von 401 bis 551 m. ü. NHN .
