Eppendorf ist ein westlich der Alster gelegener Stadtteil der Freien und Hansestadt Hamburg. Er gehört zum Kerngebiet des Bezirks Hamburg-Nord und ist Sitz des gleichnamigen Bezirksamts.
Eppendorf liegt rechts der Alster kurz vor ihrer Mündung in die Außenalster. Die Alster bildet auch die Grenze zum östlich gelegenen Stadtteil Winterhude. Im Süden bildet der Isebekkanal, der hier in die Alster mündet, die Grenze zum Stadtteil Harvestehude. Südwestlich grenzt Eppendorf an den Stadtteil Hoheluft-Ost, westlich an Lokstedt. Im Norden bildet die Güterumgehungsbahn die Grenze zu den Stadtteilen Groß-Borstel und Alsterdorf. Hier mündet auch das Flüsschen Tarpenbek in den Mühlenteich und weiter in die Alster. Der Mühlenteich dient auch als Winterquartier für die Alsterschwäne.
