Die Gemeinde Reußenköge befindet sich mitten in der nordfriesischen Marsch auf der gleichen geographischen Breite wie die östlich gelegene Nachbargemeinde, die Stadt Bredstedt, in der Region Mittleres Nordfriesland.
Die Gemeinde umfasst ein Gebiet, das aus sieben eingedeichten Kögen besteht. Der Gemeinde zugehörig ist auch die ihr vorgelagerte Hamburger Hallig. Die Gesamtfläche beträgt knapp 4600 ha, die sich auf etwa zwölf Kilometer entlang der Nordseeküste erstrecken.
