Kaltenwestheim ist ein Ortsteil der Stadt Kaltennordheim im Landkreis Schmalkalden-Meiningen in Thüringen.
Erstmals wurde der im Jahr 795 als Westheim erwähnt. Der Ort gehörte über Jahrhunderte zum Amt Kaltennordheim, welches sich zeitweise im Besitz der Herren von Neidhartshausen, der Grafschaft Henneberg-Schleusingen , verschiedener Ernestinischer Herzogtümer befand und zuletzt ab 1815 zum Großherzogtum Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach gehörte. Ab 1920 lag die Gemeinde im Landkreis Eisenach im Freistaat Thüringen, ab 1952 gehörte sie zum Kreis Meiningen im DDR-Bezirk Suhl. 1974 wurde Mittelsdorf nach Kaltenwestheim eingegliedert.gehörte. Im Zuge der Gebietsreform Thüringen 2018 und 2019 wurden Kaltenwestheim und Mittelsdorf zum 1. Januar 2019 in die Stadt Kaltennordheim eingegliedert. Kaltenwestheim und Mittelsdorf wurden dabei zwei eigenständige Ortsteile Kaltennordheims.
