Ihren Namen Evangelische Stadtkirche Monschau erhielt die Kirche im Gottesdienst zur Wiedereröffnung am 23. August 2014. Mit dem Namen wird auf die besondere Rolle der Kirche als „Kirche für die Stadt“ hingewiesen. Trägerin der Kirche ist die Evangelische Kirchengemeinde Monschauer Land.
