Das Alpinmuseum ist ein Zweig des Bayerischen Nationalmuseums und befindet sich im Marstall in Kempten . Der Schwerpunkt des Museums ist die Geschichte der Alpen, die Geschichte des Alpinismus sowie Umwelt und Natur. Sammlung und Konzeption wurden in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Deutschen Alpenverein aufgebaut und entwickelt. Die laufenden Kosten trägt das Kulturamt der Stadt Kempten. Die Ausstellungsfläche der vier Obergeschosse beträgt zusammen 2200 Quadratmeter. Das Alpinmuseum wurde am 1. August 1991 eröffnet. Nachdem 2015 die Alpenländische Galerie geschlossen wurde, stehen dem Alpinmuseum mit dem Erdgeschoss zwei weitere Räume zur Verfügung.
