Das Unternehmen Max H. Müller Brinker Eisenwerk Hannover-Brink wurde 1915 von den Brüdern und Ingenieuren Max Müller II und Gustav Müller in Hannover-Brink-Hafen gegründet. Das Eisenwerk war die Erweiterung der von ihrem Vater Max Müller I im Jahre 1879 in Oldenburg gegründeten und am 30. Januar 1889 nach Hannover-Hainholz verlegten „Max Müller Maschinen- und Formenfabrik“. Der Betrieb in Brink wurde auf Rüstungsproduktion eingestellt. Auf Grund von Erbstreitigkeiten trennten sich die Brüder. Gustav Müller, die „Hainholzer Linie“, war ab ca. 1920 Alleininhaber der Hainholzer Firma und Max Müller II war Inhaber des Eisenwerks in Brink. Es wurde ein Abkommen geschlossen mit dem sich Max Müller II verpflichtete, die kommenden 20 Jahre nach der Trennung keine Maschinen herzustellen, die in das Fertigungsprogramm des Hainholzer Werkes fielen.
