Colditz ist eine Stadt im Landkreis Leipzig in Sachsen, direkt an der Zwickauer Mulde gelegen. Im Ortsteil Sermuth vereinigen sich die Zwickauer und die Freiberger Mulde. Die Stadt ist überregional durch das Schloss Colditz bekannt.
Angrenzende Gemeinden sind die Stadt Bad Lausick und die Stadt Grimma sowie die Städte Leisnig, Hartha und Geringswalde und die Gemeinden Zettlitz und Königsfeld im Landkreis Mittelsachsen.
