Das Alte Rathaus der Stadt Haltern am See wurde 1575 - 1577 an der Nordseite des Marktplatzes mit Renaissancegiebeln erbaut.
Nach erheblichen Schäden durch den letzten Weltkrieg wurde es 1948 bis 1952 in vereinfachter Form wiedererrichtet.
In den Jahren 1997/1998 wurde es erstmals nach diesem Wiederaufbau grundlegend erneuert. Es besteht heute als zweigeschossiger Bau in Traufenlage, das Erdgeschoss in einer Laube aus vier Spitzbogenarkaden geöffnet.
