Das Museo Memorial der Dominikanischen Widerstands ist ein Gedenkmuseum zu Ehren aller Männer und Frauen, die auf die eine oder andere Weise gegen das diktatorische Regime von Rafael Leónidas Trujillo Molina und während des modernen Regimes von Joaquín Balaguer kämpften, sowie all jener Familien, die während der blutigen "Ära von Trujillo" und den folgenden "12 Jahren von Balaguer", die tatsächlich 22 (12 und 10) waren, ihre Angehörigen verloren haben. Das Museum hat das Ziel, die Geschichte all jener nationalen Helden, die zu einem bestimmten Zeitpunkt in den Köpfen der Dominikaner "vergessen" wurden, zu retten und zu bewahren.
