Die Catedral del Salvador ist die römisch-katholische Kathedrale in Ávila. Sie ist die erste gotische Kathedrale Spaniens und weist Züge des Übergangs von der Romanik zur Gotik auf.
Mit dem Bau wurde in der zweiten Hälfte des 12. Jahrhunderts begonnen. Auftraggeber war König Alfons VIII. Der erste Entwurf der Kathedrale stammt von Meister Fruchel , der ab 1172 auch die Bauleitung innehatte. Zunächst entstanden, in Anlehnung an die Abteikirche von St. Denis, der Chor mit Kapellenkranz und doppeltem Chorumgang. Das Langhaus wurde erst im 14. Jahrhundert in Anlehnung an das der Kathedrale von Toledo fertiggestellt. Im Laufe der Zeit zeigte sich, dass die Proportionen von Mittelschiff und den niedrigen Seitenschiffen statische Probleme verursachten. Im 18. Jahrhundert wurden daher Unterstützungsbögen hinzugefügt und die Vierungspfeiler verstärkt.
