Der Platz liegt gegenüber „La Catedral“ und trägt den Namen des berühmten Granadan , der in seiner Jugend ein Gefährte des berühmten Velázquez war, bei dem er die schwierige Kunst der Bildhauerei erlernte, und dessen Marmorstatue den Platz schmückt
