Chérac ist ein Ort und eine westfranzösische Gemeinde mit 1.118 Einwohnern im Département Charente-Maritime in der Region Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Die Gemeinde gehört zum Arrondissement Saintes und zum Kanton Chaniers. Die Einwohner werden Chéracais genannt.Chérac liegt in der Saintonge etwa 15 Kilometer ostsüdöstlich von Saintes. Der Fluss Charente begrenzt die Gemeinde im Süden. Umgeben wird Chérac von den Nachbargemeinden Saint-Sulpice-de-Cognac im Norden, Louzac-Saint-André im Nordosten und Osten, Saint-Laurent-de-Cognac im Osten und Südosten, Salignac-sur-Charente im Südosten und Süden, Brives-sur-Charente im Süden, Montils und Rouffiac im Südwesten, Dompierre-sur-Charente im Westen sowie Saint-Sauvant und Saint-Césaire im Nordwesten.Durch die Gemeinde führt die Route nationale 141.
